Naivoharisoa Patrick Ramamonjisoa, who goes by the pen name Naivo, is a Malagasy journalist and author of Beyond the Rice Fields (2017), the first novel from Madagascar ever to be translated into English. It is his first novel and draws inspiration from Malagasy history.
He writes about Malagasy societies, past and present, and is interested in the intermingling of cultures. Naivo currently lives in Ottawa, Canada, where he works as a journalist.
