Chronicles & Currents

Some stories hold the past like a flame. Others blaze forward, illuminating paths we never thought possible. In every culture, literature becomes the meeting point between what was and might be.

Featured writers
This year, Macondo Literary Festival brings together an extraordinary constellation of voices from Africa, South America, and the Caribbean, regions bound by histories of resistance, migration, and enduring creativity.
Under the theme "Chronicles & Currents," our fifth edition is proud to welcome a diverse lineup of poets, novelists, historians, essayists, and cultural thinkers whose work captures the rhythm of the past while imagining radical futures. These writers explore memory, identity, and justice across various languages and genres, and they are eager to share their stories with you.
Whether it’s through our panels, masterclasses, book signings, or casual conversations around the festival grounds, Macondo 2025 offers a rare opportunity to engage directly with some of the most resonant literary voices of our time.
